Well, where would you start. We were enjoying our hols in Oban visiting friends, who had organised a trip out on the Jenny Wren as a surprise for my wifes 50th Birthday. The trip couldn’t have started on a better note, blue skies, little cloud and no wind to talk of. We boarded, along with hosts Barry and Joan, and our great friend Julie. We set off out of Craobh marina and headed towards the islands. The trip was amazing, and about to get very exciting as we headed to the Corryvreckan whirlpools ( reliably informed that these are amongst the largest natural whirlpools in the world !! ). Barry skillfully maneuvred the Jenny Wren through the whirlpools, which were stunning, before turning back towards mainland when we moved around the coastline of one of the islands. We anchored in clear blue waters, with glorious sunshine and then enjoyed a champagne lunch, watched in envy by seals and in the distance we could see the resident Sea Eagle. After lunch, it was time to head back with an option for some adrenaline action, and boy did Barry deliver. I got some fabulous photos of my Wife thoroughly enjoying the trip, and could think of no better way to help her celebrate her birthday.
Thank you for everything Barry, Joan and Julie.
